16 Gift Ideas for a Healthy Lifestyle

I know, I know, it’s only November 1st, which means we should be focusing on gratitude and Thanksgiving and not freaking out over Christmas. But since supply chain is wacky this year, I thought it might be helpful to give you some gift ideas so you can be sure your items have arrived safely before the big day.

Fit Gift List

  1. 23 & Me - super cool genetic test. I would recommend the health & ancestry one, as well as the $30 upgraded subscription. It will show you several of your genetic traits and likelihoods for different conditions. I got this about a year ago because I wanted to know if I had certain traits that I should be aware of. Turns out I have an increased likelihood of atrial fibrillation (which makes sense since my dad has it). Since I now know that, I have been able to research and arm myself with knowledge so I can do my best to avoid it through a healthy lifestyle. 23 & Me also gives you insight on your lineage. Right now, the kits are 50% off! They usually have some kind of sale during all holidays, but 50% off is the best I’ve seen. I’m not totally sure but it looks like it might be FSA & HSA eligible as well.

  2. Light Therapy Box - if you deal with seasonal depressive disorder (aka SAD) this can help! Do some homework before buying and avoid if you have bipolar disorder. See more details on choosing here.

  3. Men/Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises - gives you step-by-step illustrated instructions for tons of great exercises for every major muscle group.

  4. Precision Nutrition’s Gourmet Cookbook - I can’t vouch for the taste because I haven’t tried all the recipes yet, but you can rest assured this book is the robustly healthy. Included are extremely healthy recipes put together by professional chefs & nutrition pros. It also teaches you about meal timing, ingredients, and is just very useful if you are interested in food, cooking, and nutrition.

  5. Massage - my mother-in-law paid for me to get a prenatal massage when I was 38 weeks pregnant and it was the best. thing. ever. Since then I’ve gotten several other deep tissue massages and every time I feel re-born. Do your homework to make sure you are going to get your money’s worth!

  6. Foam Roller - also known as the “poor man’s massage,” foam rollers are great for loosening tight muscles before and/or after a workout or just in normal life. Depending on how much you like torture, you can get some really deep tissue foam rollers, like this.

  7. Half Gallon Water Bottle - I LOVE my half gallon water bottle. It carries a full day’s worth of hydration (for the average person) so I can see at any time how much more agua I need to drink. It’s basically a built in tracking system. Without thinking, you’ll drink more water than you would have otherwise.

  8. Mood Kit App - really inexpensive & awesome cognitive therapy app. It’s not a substitute for a therapist but is an extremely useful tool for getting control of and understanding your emotions.

  9. Paprika Recipe Manager App - a huge barrier to healthy eating is simply meal planning. Make it easy with this app. I use it DAILY.

  10. Headspace App Subscription - I haven’t tried the actual app, but I’ve done some of the Headspace sleep meditations and it’s been LIFE CHANGING. I used to get really bad sleep anxiety (#life with littles) but it’s totally changed that for me. I can relax easily and fall asleep much faster than before!

  11. Blendtec Blender - best blender by far that I’ve ever owned. Smoothies are a great way to get yo’ goods in easily. It’s expensive, but it’s 100% worth it. I’ve also heard that the Magic Bullet is a good option, and it’s much less expensive.

  12. TRX All in One Home Gym - it’s a whole little gym system. There really is so much you can do with a TRX system. Granted, they are also quite pricey. You can also find a cheaper off brand one here.

  13. Gym Bag - having a separate bag that is always ready to go will make you waaay more likely to actually use that gym membership. This one is cute and practical.

  14. Purple Mattress - my husband and I replaced our 20 years old used mattress for a Purple Mattress a couple years ago and could not have been happier with it. SO comfortable. I usually hate buying boring things like mattresses, but the hubby talked me into it and my eyes were opened to the possibilities of what life could be. 😂

  15. Comfortable Pillow - I wish I had a recommendation ,I honestly don’t even know what kind I have - just that it’s from Costco and I love it and if I don’t have it I’m very sad. If you do have a recommendation, PLEASE SHARE. I’ve heard the Purple Pillow is great but have never tried it. I do know that a nice pillow can make all the difference for your quality of sleep.

  16. Planner or Start Today Journal - I believe planning and prioritizing is the foundation of fitness and joyful living. Find a planner either on paper or digitally that is cool and fits your needs so you will actually use it.

Well that’s it folks! Hopefully this gives you some gifting ideas. If you have any ideas for me of awesome wellness products I missed, please drop them in the comments below!
